The ANSAQ Annual Conference is being held in Cairns this year to coincide with the 50th anniversary of when ANSA Queensland started.

Southern Brisbane Sports fishing Club is organising a convoy to fish our way to up the conference starting in Brisbane from 13 September 2017.


The trip is open to all ANSA members no matter which club or state!

There will be a day’s travel between each stop to allow for stress free travel and camp set-up and pack-up. The proposed itinerary is:


13th Sept.      Drive Brisbane to Bundaberg (359klm)

14th Sept.      Fish Bundaberg

15th Sept.      Drive Bundaberg to Rockhampton/Yeppoon (288klm)  

16th Sept.       Fish Rocky/Yeppoon

17th Sept.       Drive Rockhampton to Mackay (335klm)

18th Sept.       Fish Mackay 

19th Sept        Drive Mackay to Ayr/Home Hill (302klm)

20th Sept.       Fish Ayr/Home Hill

21st Sept.       Drive Ayr/Home Hill to Cairns (437klm)

22nd Sept.      Dinner

23rd-25th        Conference 


After the conference, Trekkers can plan their own return. Some may elect to travel together for another week and fish different areas on the way home. More details will come to hand on this part as others prepare their options.


As a group we will have fun and more importantly share the costs and adventure. Local ANSA clubs at each of the locations will provide local knowledge and guidance on where and when to fish for the best results. They may even share a beer and yarn or two! It will also be a time to meet and make new friends who share a passion for fishing.
